Suzuki to Launch Its First Ever Flying Car, Closer to Certification

Suzuki will soon start its flight demonstrations after successful certification. The air taxi service will start operating as soon as 2025.

Numerous eVTOL (electrical vertical take-off and landing) developers are almost ready to kick off its air taxi operations. Japanese SkyDrive is one of them. Two-seat flying car will be followed by its eVTOL prototype. It is claimed to be the first of its kind to officially approve by the country. Future is bright and flying like a Formula1 Car.

As Japanese first flying Suzuki powered car closer to functionality and certification, we are excited too. SkyDrive used the information it gained from developing the SD-03 to come up with a flying car which will be fully certified to operate as on air taxi.

Focusing on Quality

SkyDrive is one of the largest automotive giants in Japan to work on flying car technology. Few of the functions and properties of SD-05 are;

  1. Futuristic Look
  2. Take of Weight is 1,000 pounds
  3. Flight time is longer than 30 minutes.
  4. This two-seater comes up with a potential to operate as an air taxi

Another milestone that it has achieved is it reached an agreement with the Japan Civil Aviation Bureau (JCAB) of the Ministry of land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for the certification.

We do hope that SD-05 will operate smoothly as it has no previous precedent. It’s safety will also be assured keeping in view while allowing its certification.

Additionally, this initiative will help grow economy of Japan to another level and will further enhance the potential of its automobile industry.
