Ingredients for cupcakes:
Softened butter: 1 cup
Sugar: 2 cups
Whole eggs: 3
Grated lemon peel: 2 tsp.
Vanilla extract: 1 tsp.
All-purpose flour: 3- ½ cups
Baking soda: 1 tsp.
Baking powder: ½ tsp.
Salt: a pinch
Sour cream: 2 cups

Softened butter: 3 tbsp.

Milk: 1-2 tbsp.

In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar together to make a fluffy and light mixture. Add eggs, one by one while you keep beating. Now add lemon peel and vanilla extract. In another bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Now add sour cream to the creamed mixture and combine the whole thing with dry mixture and whisk until the batter is well combined and becomes thick.

Grease the muffin cups and fill every cup with ¼ cup of batter and bake for 30-35 minutes at preheated oven. Get them out and cool for 10 minutes before you apply frosting. Meanwhile prepare for the frosting.
